New York, 1919 - the first Champion sweatshirts  are produced. They’re designed for various trade and military schools. The sweatshirts become synonomous with college life, worn by students for athletic training and collegiate competitions.

Soon, they get an enormous success and by 1991 Champion signs an agreement with the NBA granting it exclusive rights to produce and distribute official NBA apparel.

From its early history to the present, Champion continues to be at the forefront of technical innovation, evolving together with sports itself.
Groundbreaking products such as hooded sweatshirts, reversible t-shirts, mesh and synthetic fabrics and much more attest to Champion’s unique success.
